TEACHING EXPERIENCE

  • Through my career I have had active involvement in teaching through formal lectures, bedside clinics and theatre teaching sessions for undergraduates, postgraduate students, general practitioners and nursing staff. I have had formal training as a “Teacher and a Learner” through courses conducted by Trent Deanery, Nottingham, UK.
  • I have organized practical and theory training courses and University examinations for the MBBS and MD students (Mumbai University) and have been actively involved in running the MRCOG Part I and II courses conducted in the UK. In the last year I have also taken on the responsibility of organizing and conducting the MRCOG exams in Manchester.
  • I have been an OSCE examiner for the RCOG and the Manchester University and have also been actively involved in the Communication skills course for the medical students. These courses help students gain an insight into addressing sensitive issues such as ethnic background, sexual history, pelvic pain and heavy periods. I am also a visiting faculty at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIM-B).
  • I have also authored chapters on several issues ranging from Menstrual dysfunction, ART, Gynaecological ultrasound in the yearly periodicals for the local General Practitioners in Mumbai and Postgraduate textbooks.
  • I am also a peer reviewer for journals such as the BMJ, BJOG, Human Fertility, JARG, Fertility Sterility, EJOG, RBM, Journal of Vascular Health and Risk Management and International Journal of COPD.

CLINICAL EXPERIENCE

  • Having completed 5 years of training and lecturer ship in Obstetrics & Gynaecology in India, I moved to the UK for further specialized training in the field of Reproductive Medicine and Surgery.
  • I was appointed a Subspecialty Consultant in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at the Central Manchester University Hospitals (Manchester, UK) in 2007 until 2011.
  • Following this I moved to Bangalore, India and joined as the head of the department of Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at the Fortis Hospitals, Bannerghatta Road in 2011.
  • I started the Department of Infertility, Assisted Reproduction & Gynae Minimal Access Surgery, CREATION, at Fortis.
  • In the last 30+ years, I have performed more than 5000 cycles of Ovulation Induction +/- IUI, 4000+ cycles of IVF / ICSI, and have expertise in the entire gamut of Infertility therapy.
  • I have also performed more than 4500 laparoscopic and hysteroscopic procedures including hysterectomies, cyst removals, endometriosis management and fibroid removal.
